Youth Music and Missions - Reaching the Nations for Christ!

Wazzup December 2011 Issue

Dear Partner,
Greetings!

Christmas is just around the corner, and, indeed, it really is a “Season to be Jolly!”

This past year has, indeed, been a myriad of experiences and color - a lot of beginnings and endings and everything in between. A great way to kick off our 10th year in the ministry.

TRANSITION. Yes, it’s never easy to open a new chapter of life, but as the year 2011 comes to a close, and a new year begins, we must all brace ourselves for what lies ahead.

Now, why have I been talking about transition? You’ll find out as you read this month’s Wazzup with 180 Degrees.

Pray that you’ll all have blissfull days ahead. Celebrate this CHRISTmas with overflowing joy and peace that only comes from the Lord.

Cheers!

Journey with us through Prayers…

November Prayer and Praise Items:

We are, indeed, praising God for:

  1. Our committed staff and volunteers: Roselle, Aimee, Sam, Jojie, our soundman, our trainers, drivers, etc.
  2. Our hosts in Sumatra: Pastor Roma Sambihong and Bert Duatim
  3. Our answer to prayers, Cissy Ortega, our new secretary!
  4. The excited youth in our recent ministry in Tanza, as we challenged the church to reach out through their youth.
  5. Our loving and supportive Parents
  6. Our hardworking board members.

Please Pray with us for:

  1. Our travel plans for Sumatra, for the very best airline deals!
  2. Pastor Roma and Kuya Bert as they begin to strategically plan for our ministry in Sumatra.
  3. Our critical need for an Executive Assistant for Roselle before Nov 28!
  4. The adjustments Ate Cissy is facing as she learns many things in the office.
  5. The turnover of the ministry this month and for Roselle as she adjusts to a new role and set of responsibilities. May she be prayerful and wise in all things.
  6. God’s amazing open doors for ministry and funding for Sumatra.
  7. For the Board sponsored dinner on November 22.

Thank you for journeying with us once again. Truly, when man acts; man acts. But when man prays, God acts. :)

Wazzup September 2011 Issue

Dear Partner,

Greetings!

Time sure flies so fast, right? Here in the Philippines, the Christmas spirit is slowly filling the air! It’s that time of the year again when Christmas carols can already be heard playing on the radio stations and Christmas decorations are steadily popping up in houses!

As promised, here is our Wazzup with news from the 10th year anniversary last July 30, 2011. We put in some extra treats as we tell you about some other ministries we also had after that.:)

We really thank and praise God for your life and for your continuous support to our vision of raising future OFW’s (Outstanding Filipino witnesses). Please know that your blessings and efforts to help us is not in vain, as God is using us mightily both in the Philippines and in Asia.

Your support is continuously reaching out to the young generation of Asia giving them hope and pointing them to the right direction.

Until the next Wazzup!

God bless you as you bless Him more in your life!

Cheers!

REPORT:MAY 28,2011 “NEXT STEP” DINNER FOR 180 GRADUATES

Buckets of rain fell for a few hours! We began to pray for clearer skies since a number of the attendees would be taking public transpo which involves walking. Also flooding would be a threat.

Yes, the rain stopped but still 6 people didn’t show who had committed.

Kuya Bob

Our speakers were great and God moved through them.

Rejoice with these responses! Seven people would like to consider going through a 6 month training program in cross cultural missions plus ”On the Job” Training experience in the Philippines and in a country of their choice. (Asian Center for Missions)  THIS IS GREAT!!!

As an organization, 180 Degrees has decided to adopt Qatar (Middle East) for the next few years. With our very own Eman (former assistant director) there as a tentmaker, we can build a team of INTENTIONAL GOSPEL BEARERS to the NATIONALS OF QATAR through their jobs. THIS IS EXCITING BECAUSE IT GIVES US SPECIFIC DIRECTION AS WE GUIDE OUR NEW GRADUATES TOWARDS QATAR!  One signed up that they are interested and one “still praying” response.

Eight graduates pledged a total of P3,500 (US$80) per month towards our ongoing needs!! THIS IS A BREAKTHROUGH in seeing our own people support this ministry. (Balance still needed monthly is Php28,233 or approx US$673)

One of our graduates, Sam, believes God is calling him to work full time among the Muslims down south!!! His wife, Abi, is still praying!  THIS WOULD BE OUR FIRST FULL TIME MISSIONARY!

p1050845

One graduate (Carlo Navarette) said, “I will be a missionary nurse”!

Lastly, Praise Inc (a music producing company) has encouraged us to record our own original songs and they will help us launch it. We challenged our graduates to sign up for this project. Many did!!!  THIS WOULD BE THE FIRST TIME 180 HAS LAUNCHED A MUSICAL RECORDING FOR PEOPLE TO BUY. The great opportunity here is that our vision could be shared through songs written by us!!!  A COOL FUNDING STRATEGY but very risky.. Pls pray for this one not to be hindered! (approx seed money for this would be P70k (US$1,800)

THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS, INTEREST, AND COMMITMENT! We believe God answered mightily. Now for the follow up and mentoring and encouraging these young adults to really DO IT! (always the issue right?)

We would love for you to pray specifically by name for these wonderful people who are responding to God’s call on their lives.
